On another note, I've made some updates on the website.  I've organized some of the photo groups into gallery collections as well as updated the items for sale.  New items have been added for sale as well as lower prices on ALL items!  For existing clients with galleries, if you need your login or password information, please contact me privately.

For those who have supported me through all my endeavors, I thank you humbly from the bottom of my heart.

Updates Galore! https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2016/8/updates-galore I took a break from portrait sessions this past summer.  Had a few here and there, but took some time to relax and enjoy the summer.  A cruise to Alaska in June was such a fantastic experience and a huge photographic opportunity.  The almost constant daylight had me staying up late and waking up early and out on deck a lot!  Mountain views every direction and the warmest days on record!  Saw a lot of eagles, seals, and humpback whales in the distance while cruising.  I was hoping to spot some bears, but unfortunately, the warm temperatures had them snoozing.  It was incredible seeing the snow peaked mountains, glaciers, and ice bergs while being in upper 70 low 80 degree temperatures.

I've been entering some photography contests for fun and am proud to say that I've won several international awards this year!  Of all photos, my photo of the octopus at the zoo has gained more recognition than I ever would have imagined!

The website took a hit earlier this summer with some unexpected crashes and I'm still not completely sure what happened with the domain.  So, the new domain is www.faithkphotos.com, the old domain is still active and will automatically forward you to the new one for several more months, but then will be discontinued.  I've integrated all of the social media sites and website under the same name of faithkphotos and you can find my work on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the website of course. I've also done some updates to the website itself as far as adding more photo galleries and recently added a client information form.

Work on the studio is underway and instead of using the downstairs/basement area, Roxy Bun's room is being converted!  Roxy will still be in the room, but will now be in what will be the entrance/reception area to greet visitors!  The studio will have it's own entrance on the main floor with a small reception area and the studio right behind it.

So now that the summer is almost over which is really hard to believe and the kiddos are heading back to school soon, fall is right around the corner and it's time to get back to business.  Fall sessions are now being scheduled for limited weekends in September and October and we're already booking Christmas sessions for November and December!  Fall sessions are generally booked on location at local parks (Twin Lakes, Keystone, BY Park, etc), but can be done in studio as well.

Taking a Break https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2016/4/taking-a-break Business has been going well, but I am taking a bit of a break to focus on some other things going on in my life.  I'm still booking sessions as they come up, but am not pushing advertising or business at the moment.  This being said, you can still contact me to schedule, I'm just not going to push advertising.

Part of this has been to some health issues I've been facing. One of my biggest problems is issues with my carpal tunnel and it makes holding my camera rather difficult and painful. The other, has been my heart. While I'm still undergoing tests and waiting for results and procedures or medications, I'm optimistic that the outcome will be positive.

Spring is here and summer is fast approaching so most of my sessions are moving to outdoor on location shoots.  These are a lot of fun and also quite challenging as weather and lighting are always tricky to work with.  I've debated on trying to get in with some horse shows, but I have more fun photographing my friends at the barn or at shows rather than covering an entire show.  If I get asked, I may consider, but am not going to confront the shows for business.

The studio work is at a standstill while we still figure out exactly what we want to do and where.  For those of you who have been in the "studio," we're actually looking at converting "Roxy Bun's" room into the new studio space rather than take up the entire basement.  This will allow for both natural and artificial lighting and storage for props and still have a separate waiting area.  The nice thing about this space is that it still has its own entrance.

I've been entering a lot more international photography competitions and contests lately and have had several photos place top 10, 20, and 30 in various categories.  I've also got my new iPad Pro that I've been working on with different editing and effects.  I'm still doing major editing on my computer in Photoshop as no program can come close to it's editing power, but my iPad is a contender.  It's nice to curl up on the couch and be able to edit without having wires all over the place for everything attached to the computer.

I'm debating running another special for summer, but have not come up with a concept yet, so if anyone has any ideas they'd like to see, send me a shout out and let me know!

Spring is on it's way! https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2016/2/spring-is-on-its-way Well, Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring and with it comes an early Easter!  Spring sessions are underway and going well!  I started the spring sessions off with a two year old boy who was a little apprehensive at first, but warmed up quickly.  He loved playing with the spring props and climbing the rocks.  He was immediately followed by three adorable little girls who also were photographed with my pet Holland Lop bunny, Roxie!  Roxie, while not thrilled, behaved long enough for me to get some really cute pictures in!

I'm working on obtaining new backdrops for sessions such as birthdays, seniors, graduation, etc.  Please bear in mind since I'm still building, many of these backdrops are not available yet.  As sessions become in demand or asked for, I purchase backdrops and props specific for those needs.  The next backdrops to be ordered will be for boys' birthday sessions. If you have a session in mind that you would like to do and it's in studio and need a specific type of backdrop or prop, please try to let me know as far in advance as possible so I can get what's needed.

I'm loving work with the children and all the fun personalities they have!  One of the things I pride myself on, is patience.  When working with small children, you never know how they're going to be.  Some are very shy, some are very outgoing, some are just plain rambunctious!  In all my sessions with children, I allow the children to first check things out and "play" on the set to get acclimated before trying to shoot anything.  I love the "professional candid" shots of kids just being kids.  No one likes a picture of a child being forced to sit still and smile with tears streaming down their face.  There isn't anything in my studio that is breakable and the only thing I keep an eye out for is the child's safety.  I don't mind if they explore the props, pick them up, or move them around as long as they're not going to fall or get hurt, I let them play.  Some of the best shots have come out from this method.  It's a little more time consuming, but very worth while.

Happy New Year!!! https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2015/12/happy-new-year As 2015 comes to a close and I reflect back on my first year in business, I want to thank all of my clients, friends, and family members who supported me and helped me turn my dream into a reality!  It was a successful first year and I look forward to many more in the future.  I had a lot of fun meeting so many of you and seeing many of you again (some of whom I haven't seen since high school!).  I've got bookings into 2016 already taking place and am looking at a very busy spring!

It has definitely been a great year, beginning mostly with equines and their two legged family members, and branching into children and family sessions in the fall, to having a studio for indoor sessions!

I've got new ideas, props, backdrops on order and standby including props for first birthday sessions, all birthday sessions, seniors, and general photography sessions.  I'm able to work with individuals, infants, children, families, seniors, pets, equines, indoors and outdoors!  If there's something in particular you're looking for (prop or backdrop wise), let me know and I can most likely get it for you!  Please know that many of these props and backdrops are each custom made on order so they do take some time to get.

I wish all of you a safe, healthy, happy, and prosperous new year!  Stay safe everyone and thank you again for helping me have a successful beginning!

Wrapping up 2015 https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2015/12/wrapping-up-2015 We're wrapping up the last of the holiday sessions!  It has been a great start to Faith Konidaris Photography and I thank all of my clients that trusted me this year to photograph your precious little ones and your families!  Without you, my photography studio dreams would have never become a reality!  As we wrap up this year, we're already planning on great new things for the new year including a first birthday session right at the beginning of 2016!

I'm looking forward to 2016 and continuing following my dream.  There's lots of new things to start off the new year including two new backdrops, one which has already arrived.  We're also loading up on new props to include in your sessions as well as still looking for more!  The studio planning is underway and hopefully, the downstairs renovations will happen soon as we continue to recover from the water damage faced earlier this year.  The downstairs studio will have a small reception area, the studio itself, storage for props and drops, and a restroom for customers.

There will be a small price increase in 2016, but if you book before the prices change, I will honor the price at the time of booking, so book your next session soon!

Thank you again to all of my clients for a great start and I look forward to working with you again in the future!  Happy holidays and Happy New Year from Faith Konidaris Photography!

Holidays are upon us https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2015/12/holidays-are-upon-us Phew, I'm exhausted!  Been busy busy busy with a lot of holiday sessions and still have more to go!  But, I'm loving every minute of it and have been continuing to add more and more to the business.  The client access site has been working out well and clients can login to download their photos for faster turnaround.  They can also purchase gift items directly from the site!  Mugs, mouse pads, keychains, buttons, photo prints, canvas wraps, and so much more!  Added more gear to my arsenal, both photographic and editing.  Adding more and more to the studio as far as backdrops and props.  I'm buying as I go along for now, which is working out better for my budget (so I like to tell myself anyways).  I have absolutely loved working with the kids and families that I've had so far!  Thank you to everyone with your patience as we work together to get the perfect photo.  I will be taking a small break for the holidays soon, but will be resuming right after the new year!

On a different note, away from the business, my back is healing.  For those that didn't know, I had a third fall from my horse recently.  This one was pretty bad and messed up my back pretty good.  I guess it wasn't really a fall.  I went out on a trail ride and my cantankerous little pony decided to rodeo buck me right out of the saddle.  My chiropractor has been fantastic with helping me get re-aligned.  The photo sessions are definitely taxing to my back and the next day usually consists of ice or heat and a lot of stretching.  I'm getting ready for vacation soon, so I'm hoping I can heal a little more quickly and won't be gimpy limpy while away.  I love my horse dearly and she is my big baby, but she is very difficult to ride.  She'll be heading back into training in 2016 and hopefully by spring, I'll be back in the saddle!

Working on the Studio https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2015/11/working-on-the-studio I'm very excited to say that work on the studio is progressing!  Christmas/holiday backdrops have been ordered and will be available for in studio sessions hopefully next week!  There are three backdrops to pick from.  Things have been progressing slowly, but steadily.  Being that photography is not my full-time job, I'm happy with the slow, steady pace (for now).

The studio location unfortunately suffered some water damage recently, so the work there has slowed some, but construction is underway and soon, I'll have a studio with a changing area for sessions and seniors with multiple outfits, full bathroom, wait/reception area, and the studio itself, as well as storage for backdrops, props, etc.

This is a very short post, but a quick update to all the new exciting things that are happening!

Business is getting there https://www.faithkphotos.com/blog/2015/10/business-is-getting-there Photography had started as a hobby for me and after ten years as a hobby, this year turned out to be a turning point for me.  I always wanted to have a photography business, but never trusted myself or my work to actually turn it into a reality.  This year, I started photographing more at the horse shows and around the barn and next thing I know - BOOM! Everyone wanted pictures.  I completely overhauled my equipment and gear, bought studio lights for corporate shots I was doing, created a website, had business cards drawn up, and have been reading more on business laws and taxes than I ever wanted to.  I have never done that much with portraiture and everything you see was from reading and experimenting with different lighting, techniques, settings, and it's definitely been an experience!  I've learned so much and am so thankful for my first clients that trusted me to take their photos and capture these special moments.

I'm still working on getting the studio done and this website is still in the making as it's a complete revamp from what I was using earlier this year.  I'm eventually going to be adding the ability to purchase through the website and be able to order prints, cards, gifts, etc.

Thank you everyone for your support in making my dream come true!
